Malle

Looking like Malle (Jasmine) here in the picture..? Nope, the blooming of the sort is almost new to me,especially in the waste lands. And also which seems as  after harvesting entity, along the way sides of Parnasala and surrounding sights. The fluffy blooms in white are eye feasting but no fragrance contained. With no gardener care, the plants are getting flourished. On inquiry ,it has been said that these tiny white flower plants were seen for the last couple of years, growing sturdily on its own.Somebody said it was Chitore Malle but no way connected to original Malle anyway.

Flame-of-Forest

I was wishing to have clicked the splashing orange colored flowers whenever being on the journey of Parnasala. To be precise, these trees are aplenty right we enter the outskirts of Turubaka which is just a ten k.m. Away from Bhadrachalam. With the outset of spring season, the bright bunch of orange flowers starts blooming to entice the onlookers.
These trees are well known as Modugu chetlu and the flowers are Modugu pulu. Its botanical name is Butea Monosperma.Quiet a natural phenomenon around this locality.Bhadrachalam is so notorious for its mercury levels during the summer season, yet the trees of its kind look retro with eye feasting orange flowers, leaving leaves without trace .

These flowers were appreciated in ancient Ayurvedic medicine.People also use them to make colors for using on the festival of Holi.Vedic rituals are associated with the flowers.Another name for these are flowers of fire.Richly attributed in the literary traditions of many states of India.Mainly we see these in south east and South west parts of Asia.

In the process of transforming nature into Spring ,the woods seem ablaze with the shoots of flowers.Sooner the bursting of brimming colors arrest the gaze of beholders. At last, fortunate to showcase the scenes today for our blog viewers.

The backdrop here in this picture keeps negating though the tree stood with adequate flowers. Oblivious of our surroundings when taking these pictures. But amazing nature added its own  hues as a paramour.Hope you enjoyed the virtual tour

Parnasala : Glimpses at desultory

(An old and abandoned construction at the entrance of Parnasala)

(Temple view from the backside, some work was under progress)

That was a day of cool breeze in the tiny village Parnasala, yet, the name is quite familiar for the anecdotes of Ramayana as Rama and Sita ,the divine couple was said to be resting here for a few days during their Vanavasam or Forest dwelling. As of now, neither the wild forest nor the massive influx of people are evident here for the reasons of its own.On a few celebrations like Srirama Navami and Mukkoti ,there we can see the traffic problem with flooding of devotees,an untold rule is every devotee afoot in Parnasala after his Darshan at Bhadrachalam, else,it was something wrong.
(Toddies and the hillocks over there in backdrop,a banyan tree too)

(Goats happily grazing)

What to see here apart from the temple..?Guide shows the place where once Sita washed her clothes and dried up the same on the rock plates and the small hut believed to be lived in as well.Along with them, serenely flowing Godavari is another great scenario which delineates haunting landscapes across the banks.Boating facility is provided. This must be in your list while visiting to feel the luster, elegance and opulence of Nature's exuberance.

(Boat is ready)

I would present some pics here to depict the topography of Parnasala. Not only the Temple view, possibly other common sights which almost every typical village carries with it.Parnasala has a thorough road from Bhadrachalam and almost 35k.m. From there. There were small time vendors who provide meals and basic needs like cool drinks, mineral water etc. Some people say weekends keep drawing more visitors than other days.

(Sprawling hills along the banks of Godavari)

They are shouting and gesticulating..!

Some stories have to be told before they vanished into oblivion without trace.Such is the case with Kondareddys who had been living amidst the beauties of Perantalapalli landscapes. At present, the place is drawing tourists from far and wide and much talked about ,for various reasons.Firstly, the boat cruise on the river of Godavari which resembles awestruck earthly heaven with colossal hillocks both sides of the flowing river and what to say about long lanes of sand heaps in different shapes...!Eye feasting lush green ambiance, infinite silence, breezing air and altogether a real relaxing destination of the soul. All these would be felt when one  is on the trip of it.That's one side of the coin.

Another is, sooner or later, all these have to be submerged in the project of Polavaram when it got completed. Not only that, the tribes called Kondareddys along with their own culture filled villages have to be submerged, maybe, they could be directed to substitute places, whether they are congenial or not that's a different issue, their age long bond with the place to be disrupted. They have their own crafts, recipes and their life style basing the place where their ancestors lived some thousands of years.

Governments should have all these in their views as to help their cause as they have no intelligence to argue behalf of themselves.Right now, they are content with what they have and a little solace, having some income from arriving tourists. They can't make millions or billions with their handmade crafts, just a little bit added to their rainy days, help them by purchasing their wood crafts. That could be useful when they get shifted to other places. We are one,We are human beings, let's do what we have in our hands. They are shouting and gesticulating in silence,no media they have ..Hope you understand..!

Gross disrespect

Yesterday, It was found that the statue of Swami Vivekananda in the premises of Ramakrishna math located at Kothagudem, the coal hub, completely veiled by business hoarding.Earlier, the figure of the spiritual torch bearer was being seemed so vividly while you were taking cross heading in to bus stand. The statue indeed emanates his stirring message with a practical approach towards the worldly problems. The surroundings too turned a havoc with heavy traffic, often slip in to haywire. It must have been a coaching center hoarding so rudely covered not to be seen the statue by the commuters.

Ironically, it engaged with  the coaching of youths for bank jobs to whom the reformer gave his message in his life time to be fearless and disciplined to uphold the motherland.Don't we have a little respect about the sacrificed soul..? else, what the real meaning of education ..!?Seeing the place is giving jitters to the onlookers. Can't we have some other way for advertisement with present day high-end technolgy..?That truly gets us a shot in the arm.

Our World Tuesday

The road that looks meandering here in the picture leads to the bathing ghats of river Godavari at Bhadrachalam and the adjacent is karakatta which has it's decoration from the Ramayanam in the form of statues, created by Bapu and Ramana duo during their life time.Constructions seen are guest houses  built by various donors. At the very out set of the road, there is a park which also has a massive Hauman ji statue with folded hands ,welcoming the tourists in to the abode of Lord Rama.

Along the Karakata with  thematic statues the place turned a visual treat to the beholders. One can not be overlooked the deforming status of some statues borne by perhaps hooligans came from outside, who knows being it the handy work of local con artists. However, they let it leave the lush green ambiance to its fate,My good heavens...!

Bhadrachalam is altogether a queer place in many ways.Every season is at its extreme level,it seems. The road we are seeing here would get busier during the special fetes like Mukkoti,Sri Ramaavami and so on.Else, the way it seemed so, calm and serene..!The morning and evening walkers add random bustling but in a gentle way.Body, mind  and soul relax when we go there to sit for a while,in the late evening, infinite silence.

You need to be prepared for one thing, now and then, vehicles tend to swerve off the road, tourist buses in particular. Also witnessed snakes two times, trust me,they were so kind as they had vanished soon after grasping my presence, perhaps it's only the human being harms other people for the sake of fun.Have a nice day friends..!

Back to Bridge of Tegada

Everything has its own off days. That came to my mind when I see the bridge beneath the present one constructed afresh in the recent years.Though there are apparently two vehicles and two people heading towards Bhadrachalam,it is almost out of use to be said. They would reach a village called Tegada, soon after crossing the river, over which the bridge had been named.Nobody christened the name but out of proximity the way it confirmed. In opposite direction,we get to Charla and other mandals.

The old bridge looked sinking down and abysmal ,yes, due to silt heaping over the years by the fierce floods of the Taliperu which is the tributary of river Godavari. That's right  all these flowing entity is Taliperu.Let's talk about the place of confluence later, with some more pictures, how about it?The hillocks just behind are Kaliveru guttalu. One interesting thing you should know here, there are number of pre-historic tombs in these ranges.Naren and I have pulled them off and got some pictures too.For more information ,please see my other post in this blog.http://www.manabhadradri.com/2013/10/2500-500.html#comment-form

That was really a gray morning and triggered my spirits to catch up with all these pics to support a blog post.Lest how do the things get moving...?Drop down from somewhere else..!Hope you enjoyed it.

It's the time of floods

All seasons seem superlatives when it is concerned with Bhadrachalam.Floods are quite common during the months of July to September.84' floods were so notorious and almost created a record that remains standstill even to this moment. The bridge featured above is the link to the outer world of the temple town. This picture and the video presented in the post captured a couple of days back and these are to showcase the torrential river of Godavari.

A new bridge is under construction, just parallel to it, people think that once which get into reality could help the traffic a lot.On special occasions, traffic goes haywire with all the vehicles occupied. In fact, the bridge stipulated time of endurance is said to be finished as it  crossed almost fifty years of life.Gruesome accidents took place many a time.To manoeure safe passing through it ,one should be cautious with no diversion of attention.Am sure you can't take your eyes off the scenic beauty around the place.

The Monsoon brings transformation

With picking up monsoon in the July , things are getting anew whether it by sprouting new grass on the lands or the sky with black clouds at the times.Being smitten by terrific summer, the lashing showers came to us at last. Thanks heaven.Sometimes drizzles and sometimes thundershowers, anyway, without rainfall we can't imagine the barren scene of paddy fields and ungreen covered all around. Romance of the rainy season has been initiated ,see the picture above, which was captured some minutes before the thundershowers lashed the temple town a couple of days back.Entire town covered by the shadow of  black  clouds. It's how momentum gained for further action.

Paddy fields captured at Charla.

ABC Wednesday

"Watch out for a better place for having it in our mobile video " I said it to my friend when we were going through a place via Nellipaka now it has merged into Andhra region, though once it was a part of Bhadrachalam Mandal. There are some unique features when we happen to be in and around of state borders.Let's go to a trivia now.

Started taking video of the exotic location which filled with lush green trees touching the clouds and rugged terrain on the other hand. The shade drew our attention as we fed up with the summer heat.A small culvert was also there serving vehicles to reach their destinations.Altogether it made a landscape of  watch worthy.People were hardly seen since it was a place of woods like.

The place is exactly a few furlongs away from Nellipaka in the route of Jagadalpur,Chattisgarh. After bifurcation, the village seemed a bit developed with more constructions.Apparantly domestic and other small time business ones.An impertinent halt. But mashed up of many colorful feelings.Hope you enjoy the place.

An evening in solitude

This is neither clicked by  a master photographer nor by a drooling  dolt  for a specific  purpose.More to that, see the swimmer in the waters of Godavari and over there Sun being at his end with showering colors across the horizon. This moment framed almost 20 years back through my Yashika camera, such were the days at our temple town ,even though as of now, getting along with its own changing colors, with the influx of  the people and softening air at the banks of the river.

Exhilarating moments

The picture given here was taken almost twenty five years back.In fact,I was used to appreciate good pics that appear in the mags or papers but having the enjoyment of  taking pics with the own camera started with this picture only, grabbing a beautiful landscape through lens was something valuable experience. It was taken by my first camera of yashika,I didn't know shutter speed etc., nomenclature.

The spiraling road, on which a vehicle was going distantly, both sides towering green trees, that's it.My intuition told me to have captured the exhilarating moment. And it turned one of my favorite pictures I have ever taken, literally a a poem by itself.

I should say where it was.The location was nearby Kesava Patnam. You will  come across it when you are going to Parnasala from Bhadrachalam. It's a scanned photo for my blogger viewers.Hope a great Tuesday.

Pune Days

I have got the photograph at last by accident when I was dusting some books. In fact,it was taken in 1992 in the premises of Ferguson college of Pune and those were the days digital camera yet to be introduced. Some prints had been missed due to my mishandling and eventually forgotten as a hopeless matter. My mind kept pondering over deep inside about this copy ,must have been safe somewhere else and to be exposed to me all of a sudden.Yes,my guess proved right, today is the D- day with finding this picture wherein I could see my younger self, That's sure to be a bonus.

Mural Painting

Facelift is the buzzword now, whether it is an entity of a town or human being. The important walls located at significant places adorned with eye feasting mural painting. All they are depicting the scenes of mythological importance, here on the wall of bus depot ,we keep seeing some Avataras of Vishnu.Vamana,Parashurama,Sri Rama and Sri Krishna and the rest are not to be seen due to camera view selection.Backdrop color taken was pink and the picture in the color of white. That's a sign of prudent idea since the wall is always vulnerable to outside swirling dust borne of heavy traffic.

The walls selected for murals are college grounds, tourism hotel and other places and these are worth having because of its public attention, pilgrims also get enjoyed of the ambiance.Earlier, all these walls were being pasted by messy and muddled posters of  different interests.Seldom, obscene too. They have at last turned in to a meaningful and buoyant space altogether.Last but not the least,Mural painting is as old as the caveman, but modern trend began with Mexican art movement.

It's raining time

A blanket of dark clouds keeps sprawling over there in the sky and commuters were hurrying to home. This picture has been clicked around this past evening at Bhadrachalam. There was still brightness on the road ,nonethless, being the sky skewed in contrast.

Yes,the rain seemed its raid in full swing. No one is there to see on the road. It's May month rain,so special like Manna for the people after getting scorched themselves under merciless mercury.

A little brighter now. Thanks for the unexpected guest.

Our World Tuesday

The picture was taken yesterday evening.Introduction not necessary as it apparently the temple part of Bhadrachalam and beyond it the banks of Godavari. Also so obscurely seen after that is Bhadrachalam papers boards limited of ITC.The sky turned picturesque bluish followed by gale for a while.Thunderstorm has taken place paving a little cool for people who desperately wanted it.

The sky displayed its poetic beauty with a touch of  white clouds as it has been sprawled by a blanket. One of our friends clicked it but I have taken it here for our meme participants.A thing of beauty is joy for ever.Have a nice day.

Natural scene

Be not negligent ,come down slowly' perhaps the man was saying so with giving his hand to his lady. They were going nearer to the sea waves. And the children immersed in the play along with the elders. Two women vendors  seem happily preparing corns for their customers.Altogether a natural scene all it made for us to have tempted to click. There could have been lot of noise if the scene was captured in video.Interesting for details..? Just a part of Visakhapatnam's Rushi konda beach.

A Quiescent Evening

That was an evening, sun almost on the verge of getting draped in to the horizon  in the spring season of our location. Each town whether it is big or small generally has a ground for the common needs of folks like walking, playing and sometimes that can be served as a stage for theater arts. The people here in the ground were in action of their own choice. The ground is adjacent to Redcross building ,in fact, less than a stone throw's away.

Both mornings and evenings ,It is quite a known phenomena with lots of people pursuing walking and playing with gusto. One round of walking in the ground almost emulates one kilometer. Some young aspirants keep jogging and having work-outs to meet the stipulated standards.Usually evening walkers are seen from the segments of employed ones and others who have no time in the morning.

Cricket buffs are regular without fail.Mostly children and youths seem busy playing it.District and state level tournaments take place here with regular intervals. Here in the ground, there is a stage that houses drama competitions in the starting months of each year. Many renowned theater and Cine persons had partook it and it's going on as an enduring legacy from the last fifteen years.

A Cute Rabbit

Rabbit is one animal with all that quite innocence while being cute for looks. With such a milk white gossamer  skin and black berry eyes.Clicked it when I visited our local park, the park runners are known for their avant guard ideas to attract the inflow of children like these apart from swinging cradles and other entertainment equipment. The Rabbit was perhaps in contemplation for something else.

Our World Tuesday

Prepping up for moving forward. The boat was all set for piercing the waters in a part of trip for tourists ,came from several places to have a cruise. It was taken during my visit to Visakhapatnam, maybe almost a year back.River Godavari ,synonymous to Bhadrachalam, all the way travel and get united with the sea we see here, called Bay of Bengal. Not only Godavari, there are other torrential rivers keep streaming to it.In my opinion who conquers the sea conquers all.
